James Hardie provides a wide array
of fiber cement building boards to meet a variety
of construction needs in the country.
Equipped with superior product and process technology,
James Hardie undergoes product application
development to launch new, innovative products and
systems. James Hardie invests heavily
in research and development in keeping with James
Hardie's mission to provide quality building
materials that meet the needs of today's builders
and homeowners. We have research and development centers
in Sydney, Australia and Fontana, California, where
we employ over 100 scientists, engineers and technicians
in core research and product and process development.
Over 50% of our scientists have advanced degrees and
45% have worked for James Hardie
for longer than five years.
Through market research we identified a need for a
durable, but light-weight and economical product for
ceiling applications in the Philippines residential
construction market. We responded to that need by
developing, in Cabuyao, a product called HardieFlexTM
Lite Cement Board - a thinner, lighter
and more economic board for ceiling applications.
It was launched in the Philippines in October 2001
and continues to penetrate the ceiling boards market.
In July 2003, James Hardie launched
America's trusted siding board, HardiePlankTM
Cladding. This product combines an appearance
that gives the warmth and charm of wood, with the
durability and strength of its cement-based composition.
And in November 2004, HardieFlexTM
Senepa Fascia Board
was launched to complement the eaves line of houses,
to give homes a distinctive advantage.
And in the following years, James Hardie
would be in a constant state of research and development,
creating new products to suit the growing needs of
the market. In March 2007, the HardiePatternTM
Textured Wall Board was launched to give
walls a rich textured finish. And the durable and
versatile HardieFlexTM
Flooring System was
also introduced in the same year. |
