group which produces a wide range of fiber cement building
materials. James Hardie's varied products
are used in the exterior and interior of residential and commercial
buildings. Established in Australia in 1888, James
Hardie grew rapidly, discovering and developing new
ideas in construction materials. In the 1980's, James
Hardie was a pioneer in developing asbestos-free
fiber cement.
Our operations
span the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and
the Philippines and we are establishing a presence in Europe.
James Hardie employs around 3,000 people
and has 14 manufacturing plants. In the United States alone,
James Hardie employs 1,800 people and 9 plants.
